Born to George and Deloris Yarber, Mayor Tony T. Yarber was reared in the Westside Community, Subdivision # 2.  A product of Jackson Public Schools, Mayor Yarber received a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a M.S. in Education Administration and Supervision from Jackson State University.  

Throughout the years, Mayor Yarber has been a strong advocate for his community.  He has consistently utilized his education, experiences, and beliefs as a driving force behind his passion for the development of all people. His relentless passion for the City of Jackson to be restored is evident in his commitment to this great city. 

Mayor Yarber married his high school sweetheart, Rosalind Neal Yarber, twelve years ago. Mrs. Yarber received a B.S. in Social Work from Jackson State University, and her M.S. in Management from Belhaven College (University). She is also a licensed social worker for the State of Mississippi. Currently, she serves as the director of social services for the Jackson metro area for one of the largest international non–profit companies.  

Tony and Rosalind are the proud parents of three children: Carmen, Cameron and Toni Michelle, all of whom attend public schools within the City of Jackson. Mayor Yarber is dedicated to creating a better Jackson, not just for his wife and children, but for all of the citizens of our great city!   

Through his work in the public school systems, city council, and community engagement projects, Mayor Yarber has obtained the skills and knowledge to move Jackson forward. Mayor Yarber’s passion for youth-related and restored values within Jackson has impacted the community he serves and left impressions on the lives of countless citizens. He has a desire and passion to see citizens of Jackson empowered and proud to say that they are true Jacksonians. With his innovative approaches and concepts, Mayor Yarber continues to cross economic, cultural and social boundaries.
